Two powerful earthquakes damaged homes, schools, hospitals and essential systems across northern Venezuela. Many families were forced to leave their homes without knowing when they could return. Initial estimates indicated that 1.8 million people needed humanitarian assistance; one month later, nearly 23,100 people were still living in temporary shelters.
